West Dean College

West Dean College in West Sussex is internationally recognised for conservation and creative art and is definitely one of my very favourite locations for teaching. Set in rolling countryside and surrounded by stunning gardens it provids a wonderful timeless, relaxed environment with excellent food and always good company.

Due to Covid-19 the class sizes are smaller and students will sit socially distanced and my demonstrations can be viewed in close-up on large TV screens around the room. Equipment lists will be provided.

The West Dean shop is open during the mornings and if you need any of the equipment that I supply if you email me in advance and I can bring this along on the day. I hope you can join me there!

6 November – ‘An Introduction to Botanical Drawing with Coloured Pencils’ – Taster Day

• Learn about the materials I use
• Try out some of the techniques with demos and supervision
• Have a go at a small project

28 September – 1 October – ‘Rich Autumn Colours with Coloured Pencils’ CANCELLED

28 – 31 March 2024 – ‘Capturing Tulips in Coloured Pencil’

• Capture the movement, form, fine details and rich colours of these fabulous spring bulbs.
• Look in detail at petals, stamens, leaves and roots.
• Create some studies and the beginnings of a vibrant composition
