I met this amazing blue and gold giant macaw on my travels along the Garden Route in South Africa a few years ago.  We spent ages trying to talk to him and videoing him preening his plumage sitting on his well worn branch, he was quite scornful of us tourists.  Later during lock-down I had the space and time to draw him.  My first bird drawing although I have drawn feathers before.  I chose to draw him in colour and the branch using my favourite technique of underpainting with a detail graphite drawing on top.
