Meet Mister Mac, the giant blue and gold macaw (ara ararauna) I met in a bird sanctuary in South Africa. He sat quietly on this perch where he obviousy spent a lot of time as you can see by the worn wood, and steadfastly refused to acknowledge us despite our juvenile squawks and ‘who’s a pretty boy then’ remarks until we walked under the tree to move on around the vast sanctuary when he loadly squawked ‘Goodbye then!’ A real character. I so enjoyed drawing him during lock-down and he now sits behind me when I am Zooming so he is not for sale but he is avalable as a beautiful limited edition print.
