Exciting times for coloured pencil
Last week I visited the exhibition of the Hampton Court Florilegium Society at the Clore Gallery, Hampton Court Palace with the cygnets group. It’s a lovely exhibition and we had an excellent lunch in the Tiltyard Cafe to celebrate the success of Maggie Hatherley-Champ being the first person to get her coloured pencil work accepted in a Florilegium. We are all very pleased for her.
Now for my news update. The book has been reprinted and seems to be doing very well. There was a good review in the RHS ‘Garden’ mag recently and the RHS are selling it in their Christmas mail order brochure. The really exciting bit is that Faber Castell have produced a tin of 24 Faber Castell Polychromos pencils chosen by yours truly to go with the book. The ‘Ann Swan’ Special Selection. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would ever get my name on a pencil tin when I started this colouring in caper so there you go!!
We will be doing a special offer for Christmas of a signed copy of the book plus the tin of 24 pencils for £45 plus p&p. More details later. I’m just shooting off to Denver to give a 3 day ‘Seedpods’ workshop at the Botanic Gardens.
