'The Bigger Picture'
Returning from a wonderful holiday touring the Marche area of Italy, a totally unspoilt landscape dotted with beautiful little hilltop villages and no tourists, I was concerned that the garden would have suffered from our long absence and our inspiration for ‘The Bigger Picture’ three- day workshop would have perished. However, thanks to the lack of summer weather, the garden had flourished and provided loads of inspiration for an enjoyable but intense workshop.
The weather came up trumps for once, and we were able to do sketches and working drawings in situ and enjoy lunches in the garden.
Quick demo of creased poppy petal. Defining shadows first with Faber Castell 135 then gently layering colours letting the light from the paper shine through.
We really struggled to achieve the vivid magenta of one of the geraniums. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
